09.10.2015 @ 09:00 - 11:30Free
Mid-term findings of the jointly Danish Maritime Foundation/Aalborg University PhD project about shipping and logistics in the wind industry will be presented to the public. In addition, a panel of industry veterans will present and discuss issues pertaining to risk management for offshore shipping and logistics.
Shipping, logistics, and SCM activities play a key role in the life-cycle of wind farms erected onshore or offshore. Within the different life-cycle phases, several distinctively different supply chains exist. For academicians and practitioners alike, shipping/logistics/supply chain management opportunities exist to serve the growing wind energy market both locally, regionally, and globally.
Aalborg University and the Danish Maritime Foundation (Den Danske Maritime Fond) jointly host this mid-term meeting to provide an update on the findings of the global wind energy shipping and logistics PhD project which started in February, 2014 and is expected to be finalized early 2017.
In addition, a panel of industry veterans will present their views on risk and risk mitigation as it pertains to both personnel as well as processes involved in offshore wind shipping and logistics. The panel will be moderated by a prominent industry player and the keynote speaker of the event will be a politician.
The event is free of charge however registration is necessary.
