Polish-Danish cooperation within the IT and High-Tech sectors
02.05.2018 @ 08:30 - 11:00Free
Within the next few years the maritime sector will become overwhelmingly influenced by IT technology development. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous vessels, drones, robotics are set to change shipping, security, communication and other maritime operations. Apart from those there will be need for an enhanced cooperation in more “traditional” areas such as software development or data management.
The purpose of the seminar is to discuss the possibilities of enhanced cooperation between Poland and Denmark in the IT technologies applicable in the marine sector. As ‘blue economy’ gains a lot of EU’s attention, since seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy and have great potential for innovation and growth, we would look to specifically focus on the potential of cooperation within the Baltic Sea as an innovation laboratory. Both Poland and Denmark have very well developed maritime sectors and a long tradition of working at sea. In many areas the developments are complementary and companies from both countries form joint value chains, in particular in the services sector.
The purpose of this seminar would be threefold:
- To demonstrate how Poland and Denmark answer to new technology trends – based on examples of selected solutions in robotics, software, drone products;
- To discuss potential for cooperation such as outsourcing and strategic partnerships from the perspective of different service and product providers;
- To discuss possibilities of commercial cooperation between Poland and Denmark at both EU and global level: How Poland and Denmark can join forces to achieve equally blue growth and technologically competitive maritime industries?
